The Nording Fantasy series is one of the company's signature freehand style of smoking pipes. Erik Nording has done a masterful job of maintaining the spirit of creativity and imagination at his company.
In the mid-1960s, Erik Nording found an unconventional way into the world of pipe making. He originally went to school to learn to become a blacksmith and engineer and was contracted to build a pipe making machine for a Copenhagen pipe repairer. Thie repairer could not pay for it, so instead took Nording on and taught him how to make new smoking pipes.
That business partnership would not last, and soon Nording found himself alone, and his business took off from there. Utilizing an engineer's perspective, he took his ideas and turned them into original and freehand shapes that took the traditional designs of smoking pipes and turned them into his creations, with an extra flair that most makers do not add to the mix.
Later on, Erik's son Knud joined the business, managing sales, and marketing while helping out wherever he was needed. The third generation, Victor, has also become a part of the Nording business, solidifying the future of a company that has been praised almost from the beginning.
Nording's Fantasy series is an excellent line of tobacco pipes blending the smooth beauty of the briar and the superb texture of rustication.
